Frozen Tundra

It is FREEZING! -30 below zero with windchills makes this to be a cold time. School was canceled for Aidan and I, and we have done so much today. We got an oil change, went to the store, dropped off a package and went to visit Louie at the Vet.

Louie, our new adorable and awesome kitty, decided to munch on Riley's old hair scrunchie. He ate it and it unraveled in his tummy and went to his lower intestines. He had major surgery 2 days ago and is healing well. Hopefully we can bring him home tomorrow. He's only 6 months old we just couldn't do it. I'm afraid to know what the final cost will be. eeek.

I really hate this whole recession bit, and I'm trying really hard to find ways to save money. After getting our basement finished we knew it was a big chunk of change out of our savings. I'm trying really hard to add to it.

At school I'm working on getting these kids ready for ISATs in March and it is a nauseating time for me. I hate getting them prepared for writing essays, just sucks.

Chris is dealing with lots of work and the economy doesn't scream sales..lol.

This is a time for us to really work hard at finding ways to save money and not spend so much. Did I mention I hate budgets and such?

Riley is liking her new school and is learning a lot. She also says a prayer at lunch before they eat, so it's nice to get her in that habit. She's also quite the ballerina, and is thrilled to perform.

Aidan loves his basketball, but he is entranced with the buzzer and the clock. It kind of mesmerizes him. We are working on his running prowess, but Chris and I both said that he wasn't blessed with fast genes. His throat is still causing him issues and we are thinking he'll be visiting an ENT soon and maybe talking about a tonsillectomy.

Chris and I started going to the gym and we're doing pretty well, just we find that -30 really holds us back. I haven't have caffeine or pop since Oct. 23rd and am quite impressed that I've done it.
